A Training Course on “Managing Heritage Areas during Disasters and Crises” at the BA Cente


The BA Center for Documentation of Natural and Cultural Heritage (CULTNAT) holds from 18 July 2017 to 26 July 2017 a training course in cooperation with Egyptian Heritage Rescue Foundation entitled “Managing Heritage Areas during Disasters and Crises” at the Lecture Hall in the Center’s headquarters in the Smart Village.
Meanwhile, Dr. Mohamed Farouk, the Center’s director, has emphasized the importance of this course in introducing cultural heritage and the management of crises and disaster either in heritage areas or in curator possessions. This comes as part of the efforts of a team of expert archeologists and curators to preserve cultural heritage and raise awareness through a series of lectures and practical training.
Moreover, Abdul Hamid Salah, the chairman of the Egyptian Heritage Rescue Foundation, asserts that the foundation’s aim upon establishment has been to train teams to rescue heritage and set plans to manage related risks. He further adds that it has been one of the parties responsible for rescuing the Museum of Islamic Art.
It is noteworthy that the activities of the Egyptian Foundation extends to encompass providing several training courses that aim at training Arab teams of expert archeologists and curators in cooperation with ICCROM.
