Within the framework of the Euromed Heritage IV Programme, CULTNAT hosted the meetings for the formulation of two project proposals attended by partners from across the Mediterranean region and organized by HERIMED. The Cairo Meeting came in the spirit of Euro-Mediterranean collaboration and partnership.

The executive committee of the memory of the Arab world project opened its first conference events under the auspices of the ruler of Sharjah, H.H. Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al-Qassimi and under the supervision and coordination of CULTNAT, the Center for Documentation of Cultural and Natural heritage. The conference lasted for two days. The event was held in Sharjah in U.A.E. in cooperation with 12 Arab countries in addition to some of the most important heritage institutes in the Arab world. The most important aim of the project is to protect and document the heritage memory; scientific, religious, architectural, folkloric heritage and historic documents. The conference discussed the composition of the supreme committees of the project, the subcommittees and the preparation of the project proposal which contains the operational plan and the requirements of the project.
