The event is primarily an initiative of the Research Development & Innovation Program which is affiliated to the Ministry of Higher Education and Academic Research in Egypt, funded by the European Union in Cooperation with MAGICX, of the German-Arab Chamber of Commerce. Dr. Fathi Saleh will be among the distinct panelists speakers who will be taking part in the discussion panel titled`Arab Science and Technology Strategy` taking place on the final day of the event in which the keynote speakers will be H.E Dr. Ahmed Darwish, Minister of State for Administrative Development. This is aside from the CULTNAT Booth where the Center`s main documentation activities will be displayed through 3 large plasma screens to attract as many spectators attending the event. In addition, CULTNAT will be participating with a number of completed and ongoing projects with the EU, that include SHADUF, InfraArtSonic, and Climate for Culture which will be displayed among other projects in the form of posters in the designated pavilions area for the Center | | collapse >> | | | | | | | | | | 4th meeting of the Internet Governance Forum, 15 - 18 November 2009, Sharm El sheikh, Egypt | | | | 11/18/2009 | | CULTNAT is proud to announce that it is organizing a panel discussion on the “Promotion of Cultural Diversity through Cultural Heritage in Cyberspace”, as part of the organizations’ participation in the IGF conference in Sharm el Sheikh between the dates of 15th until the 18th of November, 2009.
The panel discussion, no. 318, will be held on the final day of the conference, the 18th Nov. 2009 at 4:00 pm until 5:30 pm. Ms Hind Mostafa, Head of the International Relations Section at CULTNAT, and principle organizer of the panel stated that the panel is constituted of international speakers, as well as CULTNAT Senior Consultant to the Center Dr. Reem Bahgat in order to ensure the multi disciplinary nature of the discussions. Other panelists include Dr. Fekri Hassan (Archeology Professor from London School of Economics, LSE), Ms. Tulika Pandey (additional Director of Internet Governance and Proliferation Team Department of IT MCIT India), Dr. Rodolfo Ambrosetti (Director of Cairo Technology Development Center at IBM), Dr. Tarek Shawki (Director of Cairo UNESCO office), and finally Dr. Adel Danish (CEO and Chairman of Xceed, and Ms. Nevine Tewfic MCIT’s Director of the Cyberspace Initiative.
This multidimensional panel will comparatively cover topics in relation to:

• As well as Cultural diversity in relation to Arab Content in CyberSpace: The Egyptian Experience (Ms. Tewfik) | | collapse >> | | | | | | | | Authentication of Artefacts and their Protection against Forgery and Illicit Trade Workshop, 4-5 Nov. 2009 | | | | 11/4/2009 | | The Center for Documentation of Cultural and Natural Heritage (CULTNAT), affiliated to the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, is organizing the workshop `Authentication of Artefacts and their Protection against Forgery and Illicit Trade` within the final AUTHENTICO project event. The workshop will be held in Alexandria, Egypt on November 4-5, 2009 at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina.
The workshop focuses on issues related to authentication and control of illicit trade and non-destructive analysis of artefacts in general. It presents the outcome of the EU project AUTHENTICO, providing an opportunity to exchange the latest research and case studies in the field.
AUTHENTICO project is also holding its final meeting at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina in Alexandria, Egypt on November 7 -8, 2009. The Partners and experts will attend the meeting which comes after 30 months, the duration of the project. The meeting`s agenda primarily includes presentations and discussions on activities accomplished by partners.
