The Third Level of the Archeological Map of Egypt

Within the , a precise and detailed description of the chosen monument is presented and displayed. A detailed plan of the monument is exhibited and is occasionally linked to a 3-D model of the architectural structure, demonstrating its elements and allowing the possibility of a virtual visit.

The scenes on each wall, which are either paintings or relieves (sunken on the exterior walls and raised on the interior walls) are presented in 2-D form separately. An English translation is available for the hieroglyphic text accompanying the scene.

The current demonstration is from the one chamber tomb-chapel, a mastaba structure, of the high “priest” and “scribe” Idu II. of King Pepy I. (6th Dynasty / 2289 BC). His tomb is listed under the number “G 7102” at the northern part of the cemetery field, to the East of the great pyramid n accordance with the Old Kingdom tomb-model. Each scene has a religious aspect, even if it is showof Khufu.

The position of the architectural elements in the tomb area are iing the daily life, and represents a part of the memorial value of the tomb as a whole.
