Helsinki, November 21-23, 2006
CULTNAT joined a large delegation from Egypt in witnessing the launch of the European Commissions' Seventh Framework Program (FP7) for Research and Development in Helsinki, Finland. The event focused on means to encourage world-leading ICT research through governments civil society & other public bodies.

The first International Networking Event on Information and Communications Technologies Call 3 of 7th Framework Programs for Research and Technological Development in Cairo was organized by the Egyptian Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT).

 The main purpose of the Event was to facilitate networking between European and Egyptian researchers and developers in the ICT field in order to build consortia for the upcoming FP7 ICT Call.

The Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) organized a one day event on MAP-IT Information in Cairo. The aim of the event was to discover and enable EU IST research players to access knowledge concerning IST related skills, technologies, competencies and R&D facilities available outside the EU within the Mediterranean region and building around them consensus on which could be the major axes around which co-operation should be built and/or strengthened.

Mrs. Hind Mostafa, the International Relations Manager, attended the Info Day event on Environmental Technologies in Brussels, Belgium. The event established four main areas concerned with technological solutions that target water, soil quality and supply and emphasized the importance of a healthy environment on the preservation and conservation of cultural assets.
The IR Department is in the process of developing a comprehensive database of all national and international agreements engaging the different departments of CULTNAT with a host of national and international organizations.
The IR Department is putting together an ample contact list of all governmental and non-governmental institutions in Egypt whose activities pertain to cultural and natural heritage thereby establishing CULTNAT as the thematic contact point for cultural heritage in Egypt.
