CULTNAT Documents the Work of Prince Youssef Kamal


CULTNAT has recently issued a CD containing the work of Prince Youssef Kamal titled ‘The Kamaleya Group’. The CD is comprised of an integrated set of maps for ancient Egypt, Africa and the entire world.
Prince Youssef Kamal has published this collection of maps and he ordered to print a special hundred copy of the Atlas, these copies were not for sale. He kept 25 copies inside Egypt, and donated 75 copies to the major libraries and institutions all over the world.
Dr. ElShayeb, director of the Center, stated that the digitization project of Prince Youssef Kamal’s Atlas of Egypt and Africa was carried out in cooperation with the Central Library at the University of Cairo and aims to digitize the whole collection of Youssef Kamal that is found in the rare books department in the library to be available to the researchers and geographers and help in preserving the original volumes. The project is funded by the MCIT within the framework of the documentation of the cartographic heritage.
